San Juan, Puerto Rico

Palmas del Mar—whoa…  Super wealthy and fancy for this island.  Hit on the cougars, who are looking for their second ex-husbands.  There are condo resorts here, cool hotels and decent golf courses.  Beaches are incredible and the sea water is pristine.  Hard to get to though.  A 40 minute cab ride from the San Juan airport.

Isla Verde—The San Juan Hotel is the center of the universe in this part of town.  The Intercontinental next door is also decent.  At the San Juan there are big bands and dancing most every night.  Eat at Yamotos, an Asian restaurant in the hotel where the staff from China, Korea and Japan speaks better Spanish than you!  Do VIP at the Brava at the San Juan.  For more down to earth and less pretentious, head to Drums, the Billiard Palace, Lupis, Coco Bongo, Pizza City and El Taquito’s, which are all located in very short walks of the hotel, so you can stumble home after a night of revelry.
